FAQs
How do I best use Hydroheel proucts?
Because Hydroheel seals your skin (in order to protect it), we highly recommend that you clean your skin before applying. Whether on your hands, feet, face etc. rinse with soap, warm water, and towel dry, before application.
Use Hydroheel as a deep treatment by allowing it time to seep into your skin, before wiping it away. Plastic foot covers, cotton socks, or thin gloves (latex or knit) for hands and feet can aide your body's heat in melting the ointment and transformative properties deep into cracked skin while welding it together. If in a hurry, Hydroheel can be used as a nice skin polish or surface protection.
It's important to be consistent once you start using Hydroheel. For extremely dry skin we recommend application twice a day (morning and night). As soon as you achieve your desired results you can maintain soft skin 3x a week, or daily if you prefer continued protection.
How do I know how much Hydroheel to use on my skin?
Start with a finger size amount with your first use. If after 30 minutes you still have an oily residue on the surface of your skin, you can use less next time. Your skin will absorb what it needs and leave the rest on the surface. If your skin still appears dry after 30 minutes, then you didn't apply enough. This is how you can gauge your usage.
As you remain consistent (daily), you will need less product with each use.
Remember that unabsorbed Hydroheel can make your feet slippery on smooth surfaces, this is why we suggest wearing socks if you need to be mobile while waiting for the product to absorb.
Is there a way to speed up or magnify the "7 days or less" average window for Hydroheel results?
Absolutely! First, we suggest that you stay hydrated. Hydroheel is not water based and therefore does not hydrate your skin, but instead seals in what hydration you already have. If your body is dehydrated, it may take longer to get your desired results.
Second we recommend applying Hydroheel after a shower or bath for additional moisture to be sealed. However, be sure to towel dry your skin before applying Hydroheel as water and oil don't mix. Though many of the ingredients used in hydroheel contain properties known via published research to be anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory, it is best to avoid trapping water and bacteria on the surface of your skin.
Third, when using our Foot Therapy, we recommend soaking feet in a bath or while in the shower, and using a metal foot file or pumice stone on wet soggy skin to easily remove thick layers of dead skin. This will help Hydroheel penetrate to deeper layers of skin much quicker. For face and lips, try a gentle exfoliator.
Last, don't cross contaminate products. When using Foot Therapy on your feet, keep it just for your feet. Applying it to other areas of the body such as your face can spread unwanted pathogens or contaminates previously on your feet to other areas of your skin (especially if you walk barefoot or suffer from foot fungus). We recommend keeping products isolated to the parts of the body they are formulated for.
If sharing products with other household members, avoid double dipping contamination by using a clean spoon instead of your fingers.
Can Hydroheel heal my skin?
Legally, companies cannot claim that their products heal, cure, or even treat ailments or disease. Those laws do not apply to consumer reviews. So, in accordance with law, we recommend that you read the many testimonials and reviews that happy customers leave on our website and in our store according to their successful and positive experiences!
If you've had a positive experience yourself while using Hydroheel products, we celebrate with you, and kindly encourage you to leave us a review!
What if I am allergic to Hydroheel?
Check the ingredients before purchasing to make sure you don't have any pre-known allergies. Just as with any new allergy, if you happen to show signs of an allergic reaction, stop using Hydroheel immediately and treat your symptoms. At this point, we recommend trying our Sensitive Therapy which is formulated to be hypoallergenic.
All ingredients are listed on each Hydroheel product. If you are concerned about a possible allergy and don't want to risk it, then our Sensitive Formula is the way to go.
If I suffer from acne or oily skin, could Hydroheel make it worse?
Because oils are known to clog pores, it is best to first wash your skin with a gentle oil removing soap/cleanser and warm water (followed by a cold water rinse to close your pores), before applying Hydroheel. Otherwise Hydroheel will seal your already clogged pores and whatever bacteria they are harboring.
Though Hydroheel's Wrinkle Therapy and Makeup Remover is formulated with ingredients renowned for containing anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, immune boosting, skin cleansing, and anti-aging properties, we still recommend that you cleanse your skin before applying it. Especially, if you are prone to oily skin and acne.
If Hydroheel seals my skin, how do I remove it?
Easy. Regular soap and warm water will remove Hydroheel from your skin.
Is Hydroheel safe?
Absolutely! Hydroheel is carefully formulated using gentle, natural ingredients and is handcrafted in small batches to ensure quality and consistency. Our products are free from synthetic fragrances, parabens, and harsh chemicals. All ingredients used in our formulas are cosmetic grade and individually have been used for centuries to combat a variety of dry skin issues.
However, as with any skincare product, we always recommend doing a patch test first, especially if you have sensitive skin or allergies. If you have specific concerns, it’s best to consult your healthcare provider.
Hydroheel is not for consumption, and therefore should be kept out of the reach of children and animals.
Will Hydroheel cause my skin to sunburn?
Though Hydroheel seals and protects your skin from outside elements it does not protect from powerful UV rays. We recommend applying sunscreen on your skin before applying Hydroheel. Because Hydroheel creates a barrier between your skin and outside elements, the sunscreen may not be able to absorb as it should. Applying sunscreen first will ensure that the sunscreen has absorbed into your skin.
Once Hydroheel has absorbed into your skin, you are fine to reapply sunscreen at anytime. Hydroheel absorption takes a minimum of 15-20 minutes.
Does Hydroheel expire?
When stored properly in a cool, dry, dark place, Hydroheel shelf life can be quite long. While it doesn't "spoil" in the traditional sense such as food would, Hydroheel's quality can slowly degrade over a period of several years.
Because Hydroheel is made of oil, will it stain my clothes?
Yes, oil can stain clothing. To avoid staining fabric we always recommend full absorption before allowing your skin to make contact with clothing or furniture. If applying on your feet, we recommend cotton socks for at least 30 minutes until absorbed. If you don't have time, you can use a clean hand towel to wipe away residue.
Be sure not to wash Hydroheel soiled towels with your regular laundry as the hot water and soap will remove the oils and can transfer them to other fabric causing oil stains. Cotton based bath and hand towels are designed to be highly absorbent. This means they readily soak up liquids, including oils, and distribute them throughout the fibers. As a result, Hydroheel oils are less likely to sit on the surface and cause a visible stain. If you are worried about the risk, we suggest using towels reserved only for Hydroheel use and keeping them separate from your other bath towels.
If you happen to get Hydroheel onto your clothing, quickly apply corn starch to the oil spot until you longer see the oil spot through the corn starch. Then gently clean the remaining residue with warm water and dish soap. If you notice the oil spot after it's already absorbed into your clothing, Apply a thick layer of dish soap to the stain and place in a basin of warm water allowing it to soak up to 3 hours or over night.
